On April 16-18, 2009 in Tripoli (Libya), an International Forum on Children was held, in which a delegation of the International Charitable Foundation "Children of Chernobyl for Survival" was presented, consisting of nine people, headed by its president Lyudmila Zakrevska.
In the framework of the event, on April 16, Ms. Zakrevskaya took part in a live broadcast on the Libyan TV channel "Al-Shababiya", where she informed about the cooperation between the Foundation and Libyan charitable organizations, and also talked about the history of the Chernobyl tragedy and the liquidation of its consequences. During the TV show, young singers Alina Bashkina and Iryna Roskulets, who were included in the delegation in accordance with the government program "Young Talents of Ukraine Conquer the World", performed a series of Ukrainian folk songs for the Libyan audience.
On the same day, the delegation of the Fund visited the Embassy of Ukraine in Libya, where he had a meeting with Ambassador of Ukraine to Libya, George Latti. During the visit, representatives of the Foundation visited the Church of St. Andrew Pervozvanny, located on the territory of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission.
Later, our delegation, together with other delegates of the Forum, became acquainted with the sights of Tripoli, such as: "The Residential House" (former building of the Leader of the Libyan Revolutionary Guard Muammar Gaddafi, located on the territory of his residence "Bab Al-Azizia" and bombed during the American- British Airborne Attack on Libya in April 1986); The Triple School of Arts; The construction site of the future National Sheraton Family Center for Leisure; Historical part of the Libyan capital Al-Medina.
On April 17, the delegation of the Foundation presented the Ukrainian National Stand in the Palace of Columns, where the Forum took place. It featured photographs from the Chornobyl Zone, photographs of small victims of radiation exposure, as well as pictures of art straw of the students of the Ovruch Small Academy of Folk Arts and Crafts. During the opening of the national stand, a small concert took place, at which the winners of the All-Ukrainian Festival "Song Garden" Artyom Kondratyuk, Anna Tikha, Alina Bashkina and Irina Roskulets participated.
Later, the President of the Foundation, Lyudmila Zakrevska, delivered a speech at the official opening ceremony of the Forum. In her speech, she shared her experience in providing support and assistance to disadvantaged children, and also talked about cooperation with foreign humanitarian organizations During the Forum, our delegation presented to the leader of the Libyan Revolution Muammar Gaddafi a medal "For tireless humanitarian activities" as well as a picture of the straw "Sunflowers" by the director of the Ovruch Small Academy of Folk Arts and Crafts, Honored Artist of Ukraine Mykola Klimovich and his young pupil Mary Kobylinskaya And the Forum ended with an inspired half-hour songwriting by the laureates of the Song Garden.
Following the results of the Forum, Lyudmila Zakrevskaya, along with other participants, signed a Declaration of Mutual Intention to ensure and respect the rights of the child, as well as assistance to children throughout the world.
